theprinceofsexyness asked: Hi there i am very aware that you are not Hussie though you follow him very well personality wise :) good job but i do have a question, i was wondering what are you thought's on Eridan, on how some fan's portray him in such a negative way and make him out to be a huge pervert.

I actually used to RP Eridan a few years ago, havn’t gone on MSPARP in a while though so I’m a bit rusty. Oddly though, maybe because I havn’t really wandered on that side of the fandom or rped in a while, but i havn’t seen so many terrible portrayals of him as I used to see, no more than any other character.

I think pervert is way off characterization of him, I don’t even remember what caused fans to latch onto that? He does flirt with other character but i don’t think he’s as desperate as they might make him seem. I think Hussie contrasting him with Cronus was really excellent in highlighting the difference between fandom mischaracterization of his flirting and canon, he’s got boundaries and standards.

He’s not a completely negative character either, he’s a complex 3D characet with both positive and negative traits whose done some bad and stupid things but that doesn’t make him completely evil. I think part of what makes him a bit confusing, is that, like Vriska, he’s created this ideal self who he tries to be - Dualscar - in the beginning that make him try to be a megalomaniac, great war general, superiority over all landwwellers and such. But, he doesn’t live it out completely, as seen by the way he treats Karkat with respect and like a friend.

Actually one of the interesting things about Homestuck is the characters continue to develop throughout the story, but a lot of it isn’t extremely apparent or put in the foreground, much of it goes on offscreen. I think thats part of why the characters are so good and appealing, because they continue to change even if hussie doesn’t put it in your faces. Its apparent in little details.

But anyways, theres a large difference between pre-Sburb Eridan and post-sburb Eridan. Unlike Vriska, he doesn’t really get over that FLARP ideal. He enjoys having power, and even though he’s not an evil character, when he gains power he misuses it. He’s a 13 year old whose dreams just came true, once he learns that magic exists he’s not going to just sit back and not do anything with it - its been his secret obsession for a while. He wants to be better than his imagined “rival” Rose, and is probably a bit tired of being inactive on the meteor.

In his head he’s the protagonist and his ambitions are noble, but he’s immature and thinks of himself first before others. Not that he doesn’t think about others, but he is the priority in his life - not really a surprise considering he was raised in a society that raised him above everyone else since he was born. But like I said earlier, he’s a complex character, you can’t just write him off as arrogant and self centered, he’s got his moments when he hates himself and doesn’t have a problem admitting he was wrong and apologizing. He cares about others, he just forgets to sometimes and chooses the wrong choice first. And, he loves being dramatic and adding drama into small events.

He’s an alright fellow even though he might act dumb and bad sometimes. Like killing a bunch of people and wiping out all hope for the troll race, but, y’know, forgive and forget right?

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on any of this, I skimmed a few of his conversations but I havn’t read about him in a while.

Interestingly enough, during one of his early conversations with Feferi he says this line:

CC: Are you fretting over anot)(er one of t)(ese dumb contraptions?
CA: see
CA: more condescension
CA: you are goin to make a hell of an empress

condescension, foreshadowing.

(actually thats a good conversation to read to get a good sense of pre-sburb eridan, because even though he doesn’t outright say it, he does reveal that his doomsday devices might just be an excuse to act powerful and despite h is dreams of genocide he really does care for his friends and doesn’t want to harm them)

Anonymous asked: I think I might love you, just because we hate oranges.

Soulmates

Anonymous asked: Because I hate oranges, so, naturally, my fantroll would as well.

Ah, of course. Naturally. I should have known.

(i actually hate oranges as well, I enjoy tangerines and mandarine oranges but regular oranges always tasted really nasty to me)

Anonymous asked: Okay, so, I know you're not Hussie, but would you happen to know if there are oranges on Alternia?

Well they do have Orange creamsicles and Terezi describes Davesprite as smelling like an orange so I would assume so! Why?

Anonymous asked: Do people think you're joking when they read the "I am not Andrew Hussie" part?

yeah probably. Or they ask me a question direct from their dash and miss that.

I’m not Andrew Hussie, this is just an archive of his questions in a more manageable/rebloggable form. The person who runs this is me, the real Andrew hussie is this.

But idk I dont mind the questions much.

ps I take donations so if anyone is willing to send me the Scott Pilgrim series go ahead.

in particular

book #3

gamzeelover96 asked: HeLlO Mr NoNe HuSsIe... MaY I AsK, WhO WoUlD WiN. YoU or, ScOtT PiLgRiM

I never read past the second Scott Pilgrim book because I couldn’t find the 3rd one anywhere.

I swear to god every time I go to the bookstore they have all of them except the goddamn 3rd one.

I’d reread the first two but I gave them both away as presents to a friend and pretended like I bought them new for her. I gave her the first one for one birthday and the second one for Christmas.

A lot of thought were put into those presents.

(in my defense she never gets me anything or talks to me much so second hand GREAT comics are pretty much the best she’s gonna get)

I mean I guess I could find a place to read them online, but I really have too much respect for the author to do that. Aren’t he and Hussie friends too? They read each others comics I think.

Both pretty big inspirations.

I watched the movie though if that counts, that movie was good.

Why did you address this to “None Hussie” anyways? I mean it says “Andrew hussie” everywhere who the hell doesn’t know his first name.

Anonymous asked: Hussie, about how much foreshadowing is in the Homestuck albums and merch stores?

yesterday I went to talk to the head of the psych. dept at a college im interested in with this one other random girl i didnt know

and it turned out she had the exact same name, interest, and from the same town as me.

So the psych dept head made fun of for it through half of the meeting and was kind of just a jerk to the other girl saying stuff like “The other [——-] from KC,KS knows a lot more about psychology than you do” and stuff.

I probably wont go to that school I think.

Anyways the point is if you’re talking to potential students dont be a dick to them particularly if you didn’t offer them much money in the first place.
